Troubleshooting Backup issue SystemWriter not found in registery


Issue found in Server 2008 R2, follow the below steps and check.

  1. Click Startstart button , type regedit in the Search programs and files box, and then press ENTER.
  2. UAC If you are prompted for an administrator password, type the password. If you are prompted for confirmation, provide confirmation.
  3. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SystemWriter
    Note If this registry subkey does not exist, please create it manually.
  4. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click Multi-String Value.
  5. Type ExcludedBinaryPaths, and then press ENTER. Note
  6. Right-click ExcludedBinaryPaths, and then click Modify.
  7. In the Value data box, type all binary paths that should be excluded from the system state backup operation, and then click OK.
